Born and raised in Queens, NY, Steve has lived in one imaginary world or another for as long as he could hold a crayon. His childhood obsession became an adult passion when he formalized his art education at the Art Conservatory of SUNY Purchase. There he practiced all disciplines from painting to drawing, welding to design and even modern dance and classical ballet. However, once he found filmmaking he knew that would allow him to marry his love of art with his other passion, movies and television. After graduation and a brief stint in corporate America, he entered the MFA program in filmmaking at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. There he made dozens of short films which culminated in his thesis film, “Henry”, which won faculty commendations for acting, producing and directing. In his brief career he’s had the opportunity to intern for Broadway and Film producer Frederick Zollo, independent filmmaker Jay Anania and the voice of his generation, Spike Lee, whom he also worked for. Steve looks forward to beginning production of his debut feature, a coming-of-age comedy/drama titled “Manboobs”. He lives in New York City with his wife and son.
